This coin was designed and developed by MotorDog69. When Texas became the 28th state of the Union on December 29, 1845, the national flag of the Republic of Texas, which had been adopted on January 25, 1839, became the state flag. The obverse of this beautiful challenge coin proudly displays the outline of the state of Texas, the Lone Star and its colors. The reverse has the Texas state flag with an area above and below available for engraving a personal message.
The coin was given a distinctive scalloped edge, and is minted in nickel with a baked enamel finish.
